Time Management: Daily Schedule for Working Aspirants

Introduction

UPSC preparation alongside a full-time job is one of the most challenging yet viable paths to civil services. Many top-rankers - including Divyanshu Gaur (AIR 2, 2022), Jaishree (AIR 2, 2021), and Ankita Agarwal (AIR 2, 2019) - prepared while working. The key is not more hours but efficient hours - strategic time allocation, energy management, and ruthless prioritisation. With a 9-hour workday, the goal is 4-6 hours of quality study daily.

The Fundamental Principle: Energy > Time

Working aspirants have limited time but can control their energy. The circadian rhythm dictates peak cognitive performance periods:
