Examiners design CSAT Paper II to test basic aptitude. Though qualifying (33% required), a weak CSAT performance can eliminate even a well-prepared candidate. Core Concept
CSAT (Civil Services Aptitude Test) is Paper II of UPSC Prelims. It is a qualifying paper (minimum 33% = 66 out of 200 marks). Marks are NOT counted for ranking. It tests three broad areas: Comprehension, Logical Reasoning & Analytical Ability, and Quantitative Aptitude.
